Early vision: Building the future of IoT connectivity
Drawing on deep expertise from their time at Nokia, Helmut Lehner and Anton Cabrespina recognised early on the rising importance of machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT communications. They envisioned a future where managing global IoT connectivity would be simple, scalable, and profitable for mobile operators.
MAVOCO was founded in Eisenstadt, Austria, with a bold ambition: to deliver a carrier-grade Connectivity Management Platform (CMP) designed for a digital-first, hyperconnected world.
Strategic partnerships and IoT CMP product growth
Driven by their early success, MAVOCO launched their own IoT connectivity software solution in 2015, marking a major shift from consultancy to full product development. This pivotal moment unlocked new opportunities, culminating in an exclusive global partnership with Nokia's Worldwide IoT Network Grid (WING) in 2018.
Through this collaboration, MAVOCO delivered a carrier-grade Connectivity Management Platform to mobile network operators (MNOs) worldwide, reinforcing its reputation for reliability, scalability, and innovation.
Independence, innovation and a historic remote migration
In 2021 MAVOCO rapidly scaled, offering the IoT Connectivity Management Platform to Tier 1 operators across the globe. A defining achievement came in 2023 when MAVOCO executed the world's first full-remote replacement of a leading US-based cloud CMP, a technical and operational breakthrough. Despite geographical barriers, the complex migration was completed without service interruption, setting a new industry standard for remote transformation projects. This success not only demonstrated MAVOCO’s technical excellence but also reinforced its position as a trusted partner for Tier 1 mobile network operators.
